About Our Scrap Yard Service
Processing starts with full depollution: oils, coolants, fuel, refrigerant gas, and battery acid are extracted into sealed drums. The vehicle is then stripped for parts, and the remaining shell is sheared, baled, and shipped to UK steel mills.

How We Operate
Our scrap yard process from start to finish:
- Intake and Weighing -- Every vehicle is weighed on our calibrated bridge on arrival. This weight determines your payment.
- Full Depollution -- Engine oil, gearbox oil, coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, fuel, air-con refrigerant, and battery acid are extracted into labelled, sealed containers.
- Hazardous Material Removal -- Airbags are deactivated, mercury switches removed, and any asbestos-containing components handled under HSE guidelines.
- Parts Recovery -- Salvageable components are removed and passed to our breakers yard for testing and resale.
- Shearing and Baling -- The depolluted, stripped shell is fed through our shear and baled into dense metal cubes for transport.
- Smelter Shipment -- Bales are loaded onto haulage and delivered to UK steel mills where the metal is melted down and reused in new products.

Depollution is the process of removing all hazardous materials before a vehicle is crushed. This includes draining engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, fuel, and air-conditioning refrigerant, plus removing the battery and any airbag units.
Over 95 percent by weight. Metals go to UK smelters, plastics and glass to specialist recyclers, and tyres to rubber recovery facilities. Only a small fraction ends up in landfill.
You can, but there is no need. We offer free flatbed collection from your address, which is more convenient and avoids the need to drive or tow an unroadworthy vehicle.
