While our primary focus is cars and vans, we also handle motorcycle scrapping across Scotland. Two-wheeled vehicles have their own considerations when it comes to end-of-life disposal, and our scrap yard has the expertise to handle them properly.
Motorcycle Scrap Values
Motorcycles have lower scrap weight than cars, which means the base scrap metal value is lower. However, motorcycle parts can be extremely valuable — engines, forks, fairings, tanks, and wheels from popular brands like Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki are always in demand through our used parts service.
Popular Motorcycles We Scrap
We accept all motorcycle types including sports bikes, adventure bikes, commuters, scooters, and classic motorcycles. Big adventure bikes from BMW and KTM, sports models from Japanese manufacturers, and Harley-Davidson cruisers all pass through our auto breakers yard. Every motorcycle receives individual assessment.
Collection
Motorcycles are collected on our standard recovery vehicles alongside other vehicle collections. If your motorcycle does not run, has no wheels, or is in pieces, that is not a problem. Our collection team brings the equipment needed to safely load motorcycles in any condition.
DVLA and Documentation
The DVLA process for scrapping a motorcycle is identical to cars. We handle the V5C notification, issue a Certificate of Destruction, and ensure you are released from all legal responsibility. The process is the same whether your motorcycle is a 125cc scooter or a 1,000cc sports bike.
Classic Motorcycle Considerations
Before scrapping a classic motorcycle, consider whether it has restoration value. Pre-1980 motorcycles from British manufacturers like Norton, Triumph, and BSA can be worth significant sums even in poor condition. Contact us for honest advice about your motorcycle’s best disposal route.
