You have received your free scrap car quote and decided to accept it. But what happens next? Here is a detailed walkthrough of the process from acceptance to payment, so you know exactly what to expect from our car scrapping service.
Step 1: Confirm Your Booking
After accepting your guaranteed quote, you will choose a collection date and time that suits you. We offer slots seven days a week from 8am to 8pm. You will receive a confirmation with your driver’s details and collection window. If you need to change the date, simply contact us and we will rearrange at no cost.
Step 2: Prepare the Vehicle
Before collection day, remove all personal belongings from the vehicle. Check the glove box, boot, under seats, and door pockets. Leave the car keys with the vehicle and have your V5C logbook ready. You do not need to clean the car or do anything mechanical — our auto salvage team takes it as-is.
Step 3: Collection Day
Our driver will arrive within your booked time slot. They will verify the vehicle matches the details on your quote — registration, make, model, and condition. Assuming everything matches, the driver will confirm the agreed price. This is a guaranteed quote, so the price will not change unless the vehicle condition was materially misrepresented.
Step 4: Paperwork
The driver completes Section 9 of the V5C to record the transfer to our licensed scrap yard. This is the legal notification that releases you from responsibility for the vehicle. You will keep the yellow slip from the V5C as your record.
Step 5: Payment
You receive payment before the driver leaves with your vehicle. Choose between cash or instant bank transfer. The price you were quoted is the price you receive — guaranteed.
Step 6: Certificate of Destruction
Once your vehicle has been processed at our breakers yard, you will receive your Certificate of Destruction. Keep this document safe as it is your proof of legal disposal.
